Again, I don't know how reliable this is. Supposedly it's from the same person who has been 100% correct in all spoilers throughout TO. But supposedly this person also said Klaroine fans would be happy with the ending. So...IDK. Take it with a grain of salt, I guess.
I guess Elijah broke the "last remaining" WOS in half so now there are two stakes.
Both Klaus and Elijah die at the end. Either they stake each other or one kills himself and the other can't live without him, so he kills himself too.
So, co-dependent until the end.
Cami is apparently a hallucination (as is Mikael) and it doesn't sound like she greets him in the afterlife.
It's really weird because we saw BTS pics of Rebekah kissing Klaus on the cheek at the end and walking away together, so - does she die, too? Klaus and Rebekah look sad as they walk away, but Elijah is smiling. The theory was that Elijah was dead while Klaus and Rebekah were alive. Elijah was happy because he was moving on with Hayley and Klaus and Rebekah were sad because
Then we saw video from Joe and Daniel of them filming their last ever scene and they were sitting together on a bench in NOLA. So either they're together in death hanging out in NOLA or Klaus lives and was just sitting there reflecting while Elijah joined him from the Afterlife.
Ugh....this is driving me crazy. I just need it to be over with. Then I need to process and most likely be bitter for a while. Then I can move on. Maybe.
I just think it's ridiculous that after 1,000 years, this family that can survive anything, suddenly can't survive with a child/teen - who also happens to be the most powerful being on the planet. Mm-kay.

Mm-kay. aww that is sad if they both die but do you remember that we once (IIRC end of season 1) discussed this scenario for the brothers for the series end. Some even called it Cain and ABel ending... "good" brother killing the "evil" brother. The difference is that we thought one of them will survive but it seems that they both die!! The thing about bold part is the italic part. It seems from spoilers that they are not dying at the hand of someone else; it is at the hand of each other. Both of them are powerful creatures capable of doing anything. I wonder why are they fighting to kill each other? Is there any chance that this spoiler is wrong? Honestly I am okay with them dying. They both are beyond redemption IMO and they are too codependent on each other UGH. JP has always laid too much emphasis on their relationship. If they have to die then I like the last scene of the series with them sitting on that bench. I always loved that season in 101. It would be nice to end it on that bench. So it seems for def Rebekah, Marcel, Caroline, Kol survive the show (from our main characters). What about vincent? So Elijah gets his HEA with Hayley? What about poor Caroline? She is alone again!! It is too sad. They were really getting closer. What about Klaus? Does he have HEA with Cami or not? Too many questions!! I might watch the finale. LOL

All I can say if this is true is "Thank the everloving god above that this show is done." Because that is some grade A bullshit.

I haven't heard about Vincent; I'm guessing he survives.
There is no Haylijah or Klamille afterlife scene.
Yep, they screwed over Caroline again.
What pisses me off is all the secondary characters no one gives a crap about in relation to the main characters getting their HEA. Seriously? KOL and DAVINA get their HEA? MARCEL gets everything he wanted: the city, ultimate power, and the girl? Freya, the stand-in sister who was useless after S2? Keelin, the wolf who was kidnapped, abused, then fell in love with her captor? Vincent?!
Such BS.

After sleeping on the spoiler information, I am convinced that this is the befitting ending to these both brothers. Klaus will never ever become a better person or a good role model for his daughter. I mean look how he tried to console her anger! Again I have not been watching so I am not sure how much of an actual growth he has shown. I mean he is there for Hope now that Hayley is dead but what else? Among all the characters who have turned vampires Caroline has managed to maintain a better facade of being a decent human being rather than a vampire. I mean look what she did? She is teaching kids, making a difference, using her powers for some good. It would have been nice to see her settle with someone romantically and if it had to be Klaus then okay. Not that I am convinced over their love story. Yes there is a story there but I think it was very very poorly executed just like Haylijah was. I read a spoiler somewhere that we get to hear a voice mail Klaus left for her in backdoor pilot which she has still saved! Really??? Are you kidding me? if that was the case then why did she go ahead with Stefan and all that love for him, the wedding etc. If she had those kind of feelings for Klaus that she felt the need to save his voice mail, remember his promises then what the hell was she doing with Stefan? And again after sleeping on it, I have realized that she has been happy with her life. She has Alaric in her life, her girls, the school. For 10 years she didnt pursue him. She will be okay AND HAPPY with him in future too. You know I wouldnt be surprised if we find out that both Candice and Joseph pushed for this ending. We all know that at least Candice was not very keen about Klaroline on TO. She was very adamant that she will not come on the show for that but she did came. Okay, it is a job and she wanted to do it but what if she came on this condition? Joseph often said that he wanted Klaus to die even JP mentioned it a couple of times. Again I could be wrong. As far as Klaus is alive Elijah will not stop with his obsession about making him a better person. Even with Elijah dead Klaus will not grow up IMO. With him gone Klaus will be like "since my bro is not here to check me I cannot become a better person". I think we can say that Haylijah is open endgame since the dance was mentioned by Hayley in 511(?) And if Cami and Klaus are on same plane then they could be endgame too. Why not? I am happy with Marcel and Rebekah. I always liked Marcel and am happy that he is getting along with Rebekah to whom I dont bear any good feelings but okay. Freya and Keelin, I am ehh... Kol and Davina I am okay too. Kol went after what he wanted and got it. They both wanted each other. They fought for it and got it. Same goes for Freya and Keelin. I guess I can see Rebekah and Marcel at least trying to. But none of the other couples really fought for each other. Caroline sat on that voicemail (if that spoiler is right) for 15 freaking years and didnt fight for Klaus who we all know would have jumped on that chance. Hayley and Elijah was push and pull throughout. "Sacrifices" and what not. Camile and Klaus didnt even really develop. Maybe they will surprise us and these spoilers are not right. I have to admit that him dying is better than him faking his death and not be part of his child's life AGAIN. If Caroline had ended up with Klaus she would have been forced to be part with her daughters too since Klaus wouldnt be in touch with his daughter (the spoiler of his fake death if that was true). How would that have worked?

I'm not sure if it's the same voicemail he left for her all those years ago.
If it's a new voicemail, and he left if for her right as he's about to die - that's just a rip-off of what they did with Caroline and Stefan (Caroline left Stefan a voicemail).
Klaus dead or alive; Klaroline endgame or not - they still have to find a way to explain Caroline's absence from Legacies and her daughters.
Either way, it's BS.
Here's my issue with the afterlife scenes (or the lack of):
They had Phoebe and Leah on set. They were there; they were available. And the writers/showrunners still didn't do a Haylijah or Klamille afterlife scene. I don't like or care for either of these ships but - you beat your fans over the head with the promise of a dance and you don't show it? The woman that you tried so hard to convince me was Klaus' soulmate isn't there to greet him? M'kay.
They had them on set. They could have done afterlife scenes; they chose not to. As far as I'm concerned, it's the brothers together in the Afterlife. Waiting for Rebekah.

Been mulling it over. Here's my main problem.
If we do get the double-death of Klaus and Elijah, then this whole show was pointless. We started with the idea that Klaus could find redemption in being a good father to his daughter. But over the seasons, it became less about him and more about Hayley and her magical baby. Klaus was given more screen time with nearly every other character (major AND minor) than he had with his daughter, until this season, when they had to kill Hayley off just so he could be more involved.
Along the way, we got: secret vampire societies, Nazi effing vampires (I swear, that should be on TO's epitaph), a mystical werewolf wedding, stupid plot twists, even stupider romances, vengeful ghost witches who somehow were zombies in the last season, more telling than showing, inconsistent mythology and lame endings to season arcs (Marcel became the beast, and then .... what? Nothing).
And this redemption that Elijah is obesessed with, didn't start until TO was greenlit. He was ready to kill Klaus when we first met him, so I never bought this obsession, it was always shitty writing.
Much like I've felt this whole season was a waste, if we get this ending (and at this point I believe it) then this whole show was a waste to anyone not getting a paycheck for it.

LOL.. Didnt you know it was always Elijah/Klaus endgame? If this show was on HBO, they would have gone for Klaus/Rebekah too. It is possible that they did afterlife scenes but cut them out of the episode because of time restriction. We might get them in deleted scenes. Like you mentioned that they hinted on a dance. It does not matter if it is shown on screen or not but it is def what Hayley and Elijah wanted; a dance. Whether it is shown or not, it is implied that the dance happened and Jackson is A-okay with Hayley and elijah continuing their romance in afterlife. As for Cami (Klaus soulmate) and Klaus, I have to see that scene in which he sees her (in hallucination if I am right) to see if they have a future in afterlife. Stefan did leave a voicemail. No, this voice mail apparently is from backdoor pilot and is supposedly a big deal for KC fans. But that is it! What the ever loving .... why would she save his email for almost 15 years? Caroline is present in the episode if I read the spoilers right. There is supposedly a kiss between them. Have they declared their love for each other or not? Maybe it is a memory? She is still wearing Stefan's ring (I saw in one of the pictures). Hayley took hers off IIRC. There was another spoiler as per which JP said that Caroline is absent for mysterious reasons. I am thinking that she was talking about Legacies.

Much like I've felt this whole season was a waste, if we get this ending (and at this point I believe it) then this whole show was a waste to anyone not getting a paycheck for it. That is why I said in my other post that it is a befitting ending. Klaus has not redeemed to the extent he could have. Elijah is not over his obsession with Klaus. We learned from their past history not account TVD that Elijah had been trying to "redeem" Klaus since the beginning. By the time TVD started he has lost his hopes (that is my understanding of how Elijah's quest for Klaus went) and he was ready to kill him. Then that pregnancy happened and his quest resurfaced. He wanted Klaus to be a better father to his daughter. I think Klaus could have easily managed that if only Elijah had butt out from the beginning. The writers gave Klaus all the irrelevant scenes with all other characters when they should have given them with the relevant people; Hope and Hayley as a package. He needed to actually develop his relationship with them. By the time Hayley died, his relationship with her had improved a lot but a lot of it happened bts. When Hayley died, Klaus was force to be there for Hope. If Elijah had butt out from the start, Klaus would have been there for them too. He was there for them by then end of s1 without Elijah's help. But they messed up when they went headlong with Haylijah IMO. I feel that in an effort to NOT give fans a romantic Klayley the writers compromised Klaus story with his daughter and the mother of his child. If they had focused on them something might have come out of it. The fans might have pushed on it or something. Like you said they had to kill Hayley to give KLaus scenes with Hope. Why couldnt that have been done while she was alive? Saying that I feel that even if they had gotten that kind of development (not romantic but some family development) Hayley wouldn't have agreed to Klaus parenting method (Cue his method of dealing with Hope's anger) so it kind of makes sense for them to not have scenes together but again it could easily have remedied by the writers but making Klaus a bit flexible (a bit more push on his redemption). What was the show about? Why do Klaus and Elijah die? Do they sacrifice themselves from Hope? I maintain that Klaus has not redeemed as much as I wanted him to but he has redeemed somewhat. I don't see TVD Klaus willing to die for his family but TO Klaus sacrificed himself many times for his family and if his final death is for Hope then yes that is an aspect of redemption he didn't have when the show started. Here is how i see it. "Kill the baby" - "I am willing to die so that my child lives" (paraphrasing his sentiments providing that is why he dies) is a good development. I just wish it was executed properly. I feel Klaus co-dependency on Elijah caused a lot of issues. He was chasing after Elijah these past 10 years when he should have been in touch with Hope however hard it was for him.

I'm feeling all of this so much. They beat us over the head for 5 grueling seasons that Hope was Klaus' redemption - and she's not.
He hasn't changed. He hasn't grown. He hasn't gotten past his own shitty childhood - Mikael is still in his head. He's insecure about being a father and has been from day one. He never broke the cycle of abuse - but instead of Klaus beating Hope, he lets her beat him up. Because he thinks that's the answer because that's still all he knows and recognizes. He still believes Hope is better off without him, which is why he's willing to die without a fight.
It's not a sacrifice. It's still all about him: it's his family. His daughter. She is a part of him; his family. Klaus would have sacrificed himself for any one of his siblings - at any point in his life. Klaus' biggest issue has always been that he cares too much.
And, oh, just wait. You just wait - there's more asinine stupidity coming. I heard some other spoilers today. Oh-ho-ho - you just wait.

Much like I've felt this whole season was a waste, if we get this ending (and at this point I believe it) then this whole show was a waste to anyone not getting a paycheck for it.
So true. Klaus does care too much but would he have sacrificed himself in TVD for any member of his family. I dont think so. How many times has he daggered his sibblings because they betrayed him. He is not really a forgiving type either. I want to hear those spoilers too. Please pm me too....

This is the Spoiler Thread, so I assume anyone here wants to read spoilers. So here goes:
In their last conversation together, Klaus tells Rebekah that he spoke to Caroline and when she's (Rebekah) ready, the cure is hers.
Rebekah proposes to Marcel but warns him to only accept if he understands and accepts that she will be taking the cure at some point. He says yes.
Freya and Keelin ask Vincent to be their sperm donor.
Elijah and Klaus sit on a bench in NOLA together - where the streets are deserted because of course you can find deserted streets in the Quarter - and Klaus is going to stake himself there. Elijah takes out another stake (or breaks off the stake) and tells him that he's walked with Klaus for 1,000 years - he's not going to stop now. They stake themselves and we watch as they turn to ash.
