I visited wiki today and I am shocked to see how many people are starting to hate Elijah and Haylijah. What went wrong? Haylijah was the only ship that this show concentrated on from the start but it does not seem to have received as they wanted it to be. Wherever I read about it, it is referred to as just lust and sex, no real love or communication between them. People think that Elijah and Hayley are not themselves when they are with each other. You all know how I perceive both Elijah and Haylijah but really, I had no idea how many hate these two this much. And from spoilers it looks like Elijah is going to more of a pain in future episodes. Some of the spoilers have shocked em too and I hope, even though I think they will be true, that they are not true.
OH and interesting some seem to think that since he has uttered those curse words, he or she will die LOL.
Anyone here who has changed their mind about Elijah or Haylijah from the start of the show?

Nope, hate them together. Always and forever.
The complaints you mention are the same ones some of us had at the start. They never seem to actually talk about anything, it's just googly eyes and mediocre sex scenes. However, I am a bit surprised that the ship has lost favor, I thought everyone goddamned loved them together and would be serenely happy that they were finally a go.
I can see them splitting up for a time (unless this does end up being the final season). Couples usually lose their spark once they're together because there isn't drama. I think we'll find out by the end of this season (series?) if they're endgame. My bet is no.

I follow exactly 1 Facebook page and nothing else and I didn't notice it there. A lot of people like Hayley, Elijah, Kol and Rebekah over there.

Carina was talking to some poster about Hayley afraid of telling Elijah what she did during those five years because she is afraid to lose respect for Elijah as he looks at her differently which I and other KHers have been saying since start too and Elijah basically confirmed it again this episode by talking about that goodness in her. Anyway to which someone else mentioned that Hayley also sees Elijah differently and not who he is. Carina reply was interesting.
I guess what some of us have been saying will be explored here. I could, far fetched could, mean the end of their relationship but my bet is that it will be explored like Cmai's "I was trying to change you." (something khers were saying in s1 too). It will turn out like Yes i started to fall for that good image but then I fell for what is in-front of me. I dont see them falling out of love of each other esp Elijah. They are basically in denial of each other's faults. I would be okay if they accept each other's fault at least OR maybe we will get to see different POV on those faults. As per MN Elijah and Hayley have different set of moral because of their age difference. It will be interesting to see it unfold finally. This season is supposed to be Haylijah love story so I just hope that this very long awaited communication and real exploration of their relationship is done well and not end it by just throwing a random sex scene. I am pretty sure this is the final season and they ended it keeping that in mind. If TO gets another season that will be unexpected. From get go I knew EH is not well liked because of their situation but I thought that it will be well received but I am wrong. Almost everyone hates them except for Elijah die hard fans. OO and funny thing is that on twitter Haylijah fans are not even liking Hope anymore. I am not sure why lol. |

That has never changed except a few days ago I saw a poll in which it was concluded that Rebekah should die now. This coming in and going is getting ridiculous and also that her death will have a major affect on the family esp Klaus. The last part I agree to. I usually follow twitter, deleted by tumblr account so dont know what is going on, this page and now wiki. I went to facebook off and on and I have seen hate but not like wiki. Wiki surprised me. Twitter surprises me every day. The surprising thing is that because of Haylijah, Elijah is becoming more and more hated character apparently. I mean I have seen dislike for KC too but not like Haylijah. Like I said to AJ, only die hard Elijah fans are liking Haylijah. From my experience, any relationship/ ship that starts to make one or both persons unlikable becomes a pain. |

It was never developed properly. Elijah met Hayley, discovered she was pregnant with his brother's child, had a moment where he asked her how she was dealing with the idea of becoming a mother, and then was daggered for four months. He literally knew her for approximately 24 hours before being daggered. Then he wakes up, returns home, is slapped by Hayley (which didn't make a damn bit of sense) and suddenly he's in love. What.the.f....
In addition, there is no earthly reason why the Elijah Mikaelson I came to know and love would even be remotely interested in Hayley, other than she's hot. Not only that, but Elijah Mikaelson falls for his brother's baby mama?  C'mon. Beginning of the end for Elijah at that moment. That's why I never got on board. They wanted to create angst/drama between Elijah - Hayley - Klaus; they admitted this; that's why we got Haylijah. I don't think Haylijah or Klamille was received as they had originally planned/hoped. IMO, neither is/was epic (as D said, the pairings on TO lack the chemistry/passion of early TVD). And I can see fans being turned off of Elijah because of how OOC he is because of Hayley. He's not the same Elijah they came to know and love from TVD. Yes, some growth and development should be expected, but they didn't show his growth/development properly. IMO. So that's why you have viewers believing that he's only into her because he sees her as some Madonna, has her on a pedestal, etc. To me, she fit better and made sense with Jackson. The only person I saw major sparks with Elijah was Sabine/Celeste. |
