I don't think the show will acknowledge this, seeing as how they also painted Klaus as the only one in the wrong involving Hope when Hayley messed up too. But I really don't understand why he didn't even think that maybe the ancestors hated Davina because of what Marcel made her do.
Marcel protected a girl who was going to be killed, but he then used her to secure his role in NO and kill witches. Did he really think that the ancestors would be okay with her helping a vampire kill her 'family?' He also wanted to use her to kill the Mikaelsons, which is the reason why they don't really care for her and why Klaus went after her in the beginning. She also learned that to be a good leader you need to kill those who oppose you, which is why she used Hayley to kill those witches in the beginning of season 3.
If he really dug deep, he'd realize that while Freya and Elijah used Davina in helping their family the only reason she was in trouble was because the ancestors wanted revenge.
But he won't acknowledge this because he's a bit self absorbed and doesn't feel comfortable unless he has power, which ties back into the slavery thing and the fact that his father was a powerful white guy who never acknowledged him.

Agree. Marcel used her to secure his power (and she was okay with that, as long as it got her what she wanted). She learned vengeance from him. She learned lust for power from him. She killed her own people, which is what ultimately killed her.

Actually, Marcel's ambition for power for his own protection and needing people around him is classic Klaus. While Marcel has issues in regards to his biological father, like Klaus with Mikael who he is more like than Ansel, Marcel is much more like Klaus and told Davina where he had learned the way he handles his business.
Marcel needs to own the fact he is a Mikaelson because the things he does gets people he cares for killed and the things he accuses them of, are exactly what he is.
