so i had this old kindle which i used alot for books. it even had text-voice feature. I use that feature a lot coz it gives me time to multi-task. For the past few months the kindle is not charging properly or gets stuck displaying blank pages. Do you know any good device which can be used for book reading but has voice option too? I know Kindle fire is one but my kids have them and they too start giving charging issues after a few months? Something to do with their charge socket. It malfunctions after a while. Please help. I really need it esp when I am driving. Thanks.

I never used the Kindle reading bc I didn't like the voice. I think now only the Amazon Fire tablet can do that and there is something called VoiceView from Amazon for Kindles..
If you have an iPhone, Siri will read to you. Just highlight the text in the book.
I never had problems with charging.

Sorry, I have a Kindle Fire and I love it. Haven't had any issues with it. Don't use the voice feature though.

But yes it is a common issue with Kindle devices. I search it online when we were having the issue. You got lucky. I love the voice feature. I used it a lot when I am driving. Kids are busy in their stuff. I am listening to my books. I dont listen to music very much. Maybe I will invest in a kindle fire for myself and hope for the best.

Personally, I recommend buying a tablet you can use as an e-reader than a dedicated device since I'm sure you could find an app on android with the voice feature and this issue is a known problem with Kindles.
