Do you think that was a good decision in terms of story development? DId it give more depth to that relationship OR not?
Thoughts?

I think it will give Klaus the push he needed to stop his theatrics and try to be a better person for his daughter and for Marcel. So in that sense, it was a good thing.
But on the other hand, Cami's family had a lot of history in New Orleans and it seems tragic that everyone in her family gets killed on this show. I feel like there could have done so much more with her character instead of just being Klaus' love interest. Once she was placed in that corner they had no way out for her.

Yeah definitely. She is the voice of his own conscience. I had so much hope for her in season 1 but they just limited her to being his love interest until they started hearing complaints from fans, gave us some therapy flashbacks BUT she could have been more. One thing sure I dont want them to bring her back because that will just nullify the effect of her death on Klaus.

I think it was a good way to push Klaus' character forward, but I'm annoyed at the way the writers went about it. The entire episode felt like the writers were working really hard to bring about this outcome, so it ended up feeling forced. And it also bugs me that Cami died the way she lived: completely about Klaus. I love Klaus and I get that this is his redemption story, but I don't see any reason why Camille couldn't have had more of her own stories as well. I know I'm in the minority but I LOVE Klaus & Cami. I think this was the deepest relationship he's ever been in, but the writers of TVD and TO have this bad habit of writing a lot of one-sided pairings, and I think it ultimately hurts the relationship.

Yes they used Cami to develop Klaus's character. That was all her purpose in the show. I agree with bold part. It all looked very contrived. I loved that "I will carry you with me" part. It was the most romantic thing ever said on both these shows. Not only in romantic sense but also it had deep meaning. Cami's advice will help him become a better person. He will hang on it to continue to evolve.
You are not in minority. Many liked Klaus with Cami and ironically they starting liking it more towards the end. But like you I didn't like how they carried it out; to just use her as romantic prop for KLaus and not give her some substantial material. She had so much potential (alas). We should have had more therapy sessions and with others too. She should have played an important role in human faction.
I wonder how long will Leah make a guest appearance because her advice def will continue to be with him for remainder of series for sure.
I think them turning her into vampire was to prove two things
1) Cami messed up and she got bitten when she decided to pursue KLaus. a vampire, as a lover. She decided to live in a town where it was going to happen sooner or later. What Aurora did would have happened to her a long time ago if she had not had writter bullet proof jacket.
2) To push Klaus into another guilt trip. They love doing this to Klaus. To make him realize that he cannot go on making enemies and not expect a pay back. Which in this case is all Elijah's doing and it is ridiculous that Klaus had to suffer for it.
One sided pairing? Hurt the relationship?

Hey Think, you want me to move this thread to Season 3?
I really don't see where else there was for Cami to go. She was pretty boring when she died, her storyline wasn't anything we haven't seen before. But then again, Matt is still rocking around on TVD, so let it not be said that every character dies when no longer useful.

Yes please. And tell me how you did that?
I am so surprised that Matt is still alive and kicking. I dont think Cami died because she was useless. In fact I think she had an important role. I think she died because she served her purpose. She was there to make Klaus see the ways of his life which of course he could see but she forced him to confront his own thoughts. They killed her because he is almost there. Her death will serve a purpose too. Push him further in right direction, I hope. I hope he does not fall back to his old ways for too long coz he is def going to fall back for a while as per the spoilers. If he does that for too long then her purpose failed def. About the bold part.. yes. The difference between Matt and Cami is that Cami was used solely to promote Klaus whereas which meant once done she had to go Matt has his own story however irrelevant it was and boring. So I guess he could stick around..

Have to be an admin to move threads.
That's what I was trying to get across, but I didn't explain it well, my bad. I'm guessing Cami's appearances in his mind will be about prodding him to remain on the improvement path, and not regress too much or for too long.

Hurt the relationship? Well, this might be just me, but sometimes I feel like when these writers create romantic pairings, it's usually to service one person in the relationship (usually men). Klamille was mostly about Klaus, I feel like Davina slowly became defined by bringing Kol back, Caroline's main storyline is being a love interest for almost every male character that crosses her path (which is a big reason why I don't want her on TO). To me Klamille is one of the better written romantic pairings on TO, but still suffers to an extent because the writers focus on how this pairing helped Klaus. But like I said, this is probably just me.
