I went for a little 'The Originals' themed title, but in any case I'll start things off- Tokyo Ghoul is my current love and I'm getting around reading the manga after devouring the anime, pun intended- actually rewatching in Japanese at the moment since I only started watching the sub on Anime Lab since the third season wasn't on Netflix Australia. I'm a fan of anything shades of grey and Tokyo Ghoul ticks those boxes, although I also love Sorcerous Stabber Orphen and Martian Successor Nadesico, Vampire Knight, Sailor Moon and the original Yu Gi Oh series as well as for pure cheesy 'High School of the Dead' although even I cringe at the extreme nose bleed material.
I tend to like anime and manga where I love the main character- Codename Sailor V headlines my favourite of the inner senshi across all series, including the live action adaptation and with Tokyo Ghoul- I think Ken Kaneki is a very complex and engaging character- this last season of Tokyo Ghoul: Re when he was the CCG's tool under the guise of Haise Sasaki and leading the Quinx squad killed me and I hated Arima so much and how he was forced against those he loved like Hinami. The ghouls are given every voice and I think I enjoy that they aren't invalidated as unnatural by the show but with every right and wrong, just like humans are,

Oooh, I finally found someone else who likes Vampire Knight! Right now I'm watching Working Cells (Hataraku Saibou), it's funny and cute. I tend to lean toward fantasy type anime (Gintama, Fairy Tail, Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi). I used to like slice of life, but now that I'm getting up there, watching shows about high schoolers weirds me out. Although I do recommend Clannad.
Does anyone else find that they prefer one or the other as far as anime/manga? I much prefer anime, but will read recaps/summaries of manga arcs so I know what to expect. I've only ever made it through two manga series before switching fully to anime. I suppose that means giving up my nerd card, huh?

I'm not really picky with animes and will generally watch anything if it sounds good.
Right now, I'm really enjoying Asobi Asobase. It's about three girls in the Pastimers Club and it's been making me laugh since it first started. The humour reminds me of Nichijou and Daily Lives of High School Boys. Relatable people doing funny things.
Working Cells (Hataraku Saibou), it's funny and cute.
I really worry about the human who houses all of those cells. They're constantly under attack with no rest.
I use to be anime exclusive, but while watching Fairy Tail I got impatient and started reading the manga to see what happens next. Unfortunately, I ended up stopping the anime just to read the manga after that.

I know, right? That poor person is going through some health shit all the time.
Fairy Tail is back next month, yo! (ish. Early to mid October).
