The Originals- 4x13 The Feast of All Sinners Discussion Thread
THE END OF ALWAYS AND FOREVER — In an explosive season finale, the Mikaelsons find themselves out of options as they face the all-powerful and un-killable entity known as The Hollow. With the life of Hope at stake, Vincent proposes a final, desperate plan – one that will force Klaus, Elijah, Hayley, Rebekah and Freya to make the greatest sacrifice their family has ever endured.
I'm glad that this is the series finale and next season they'll likely get a planned end as this seems like it would have been incredibly bittersweet as an end.

I know this is only a synopsis, but it doesn't sound like Kol returns. And it doesn't sound like Marcel sacrifices anything.

No mention of Kol, but Vincent says in the new promo he needs 4 (this is in response to Freya's comment that he intends to put the Hollow into one of her siblings). And I highly doubt he'd risk putting any part of the Hollow into Freya just to get it out of Hope. That's just trading one problem for another. I really do think Vincent intends to split it between four Original vampires. They're the only things strong enough to take it on. Marcel too, but as he's not mentioned I'm thinking he just stays in NOLA.

I seem to recall Nate was seen on set when they were shooting e13....

We got Kol. We got Hope and Hayley in Mystic Falls. We got Klaus and Marcel getting closure, and Marcel finally getting out of NOLA and pursuing Bex. And we got a definitive end to Hayley/Elijah.
We did not get a Davina/Marcel scene. We did not get vamp Freya, as I was anticipating once she drank vamp blood. She's as dedicated to this family as her siblings.
So, apparently the siblings actually CAN see one another, just not for any real amount of time. Unsure from final scene if Klaus realizes what's happened, but leaning yes, he does.
All in all, a better finale than I dared hope for. It definitely was written as a series finale, but still left room to pick it back up and keep going.

All in all, a better finale than I dared hope for. It definitely was written as a series finale, but still left room to pick it back up and keep going. You know, for someone who doesn't watch the show, I sure do have reactions and questions. I actually thought (and even said in another thread) that I had heard this season was superior to other seasons - but then they pull this. Which places me in the camp of, "I'm so glad I stopped watching," but then "why can't I stop caring?!?!!?!?!?!" I just want to stop caring. So my questions:Who's minding the store in NOLA? Freya? Josh?! Can Klaus see his daughter or does he (and the others) have to stay away from her? Does Elijah know/remember he's an Original vampire? Has a family? Is Hayley dropping off Hope in MF or is she also staying in MF? I swear, I won't be surprised if she sets up house in the Lockwood mansion. Reactions: So they finally decided to put a stake in the redemption story line. So they put the burden on Hope; knowing that because they had to save her, the family has to split up. Of course Marcel can compel Original Vampires. I'm so saddened to see my favorite characters neutered. Of course Elijah needs to have his memory wiped. FFS. Always and Forever is a family motto, not an actual curse. It's a curse in name only because of what they made it. It's not an actual curse, it doesn't have a "pull" to it. And Elijah isn't strong enough to let his brother go and STOP being his keeper? So behind the red door, once more. FFS. They shouldn't have been forced to part ways. They should have finally come to the realization on their own that their version of "Always and forever" is unhealthy and codependent. They should have finally grown the F**K up and said, "This is isn't working" on their own terms - not because they were forced. I KNEW JP wouldn't give a Klaroline scene. I KNEW she was trolling Klaroliner's from the very beginning. And yet, because Hope is at the school, all these KC fans believe in their heart that Caroline is coming to S5. Bullshit. Pisses me off seeing Hayley's smug face in MF, knowing they'll never ever address her role in the death of the hybrids (her friends). Nothing can taint the queen/savior/saint. They'll kill off Hope before they kill off Hayley. And why in the hell does Kol and Davina get a happily ever after? WTF have those two ever done to deserve a HEA? Same with Rebekah and Marcel. Rebekah and Kol are not mains - why give them a HEA? And what happens in S5? Is Marcel out? Does he return? Claire won't, or if she does, it's only for a few episodes. Freya has Keelin. Kol has Davina (and wtf fanfiction have those writers been reading: Kol is going to propose to Davina?!). Marcel and Beks are together. Elijah is oblivious. And Klaus is alone. Great finale, guys. Fan-freakin'-tastic. Klaus doesn't have his siblings. Doesn't have his daughter. Doesn't even have a lover. No friends. WTF... Once again: this show never should have been about redemption or have brought a baby into it. They finally gave up on the redemption storyline and they're getting rid of the baby/child for an older version. Heard a rumor that TO S5 is only 6 episodes - has anyone heard that? If it's only 6 episodes, I can guarantee those six episodes will set up Hope for her own spinoff.

1. No idea who's still in NOLA. It's very possible that there is no vamp faction anymore.
2. He's supposed to stay away from her, because the Hollow could repossess Hope if he's around her, as it's attracted to her power. That's the same reason the siblings aren't supposed to be near each other, to prevent her from regrouping.
3. No idea. Marcel's compulsion was pretty specific (let go of 'always and forever') but the final scene shows Elijah not recognizing Klaus. My bet is he doesn't remember, but Marcel could de-compel him at a later date when/if they manage to destroy the Hollow.
4. Probably staying. She has no need to be away from her daughter.
I dunno, Alaric threw some shade at Hayley with that ethics comment. I imagine she'll still be somewhat an outcast in MF. And since we'll be getting a time jump and an aged-up Hope, I don't expect to see Caroline in S5. I do think the HEA stuff with Kol/Davina and Bex/Marcel is because they're being written out (but with the option for later cameos). I think season 5 will focus on Klaus, Elijah, Hayley and Hope in whatever town they decide to settle in (I think NOLA is done at this point, even if they do destroy the Hollow). We'll get backstory on Klaus's inevitable descent into jackassery and psychopathy, and Elijah's time away from the burden of family. Maybe he'll finally find a girl who's a good match for him.

Thanks, AJ. I agree that we won't see, or they'll only appear briefly: Kol, Davina, Marcel, Beks. I'm not sure about Freya/Keelin. I don't expect Caroline to be in S5; JP has done what she's always done and that's troll the Klaroline fandom for views. I sincerely hope Elijah does find a girl that's right for him, but then what happens when he's decompelled and goes back to his "Family Always & Forever" ways? *Sigh...

I liked the finale bc even if the Ms actually did not solve the problem as usual, just like in season 3. Marcel and Becks come out of nowhere and Sofia is gone for good? Well at least no resurrection needed for JP's S5.
